ClickUp will give you more ways to look at a task than anyone. The question this page answers is where the conversation lives — because on their side chat arrived as another module, and on ours the work grows out of it.
Capability by capability
Every line about ClickUp was read on its own pages on 24 September 2026. Where we are still building something, the table says so.

Giving the point away
Three of them, and none is a throwaway. If these are what your team runs on, ClickUp is the right answer and we would rather you knew now.
List, board, calendar, Gantt, mind maps, whiteboards. If your team argues about how to look at the same work, ClickUp settles it and we do not try to compete there.
500 active rules on Unlimited, and on Business the rules stop being counted at all — 5,000 runs a month. Our workflow templates carry a process; they are not an automation engine, and we would rather say so.
Unlimited custom fields from Unlimited up, with forms feeding them. A team that models its own data in the tool will hit our limits before it hits theirs.
Where the difference shows
In ClickUp chat arrived beside the tasks and stays trial-only on the free plan, with 30 days of history. In taos the conversation is where the work starts, which is why a message becomes a task and the task’s comments come back to the channel.
A reminder, an event in a calendar — yours or somebody else’s — or a task on Boards in the project you pick, on every plan. Not a separate object you go and create somewhere else and then link back.
Switch between client organisations without logging out, with every notification from every module in one list, whatever your role in each. An agency with eight clients does not keep eight tabs open.
Feedback Friday, kudos and surveys from the free plan; pulse surveys and eNPS from Workspace. ClickUp has no answer here at all — it is a work-management tool, and this is not the work.
One channel and one project on Boards, from the free plan up. On ClickUp’s free plan a guest has to be handed full access with no permissions at all.
A Polish company on European infrastructure at OVHcloud, on every plan — not a setting you find in a higher tier of a company registered somewhere else.
