monday.com is a platform you bend into the process you already have, and it bends further than we do. This page is about the two things that decide it anyway: where the conversation lives, and what the free plan actually gives you.
Capability by capability
Every line about monday.com was read on its own pages on 24 September 2026. Where we are still building something, the table says so.
| monday.com | ||
|---|---|---|
| Conversation | ||
| A conversation with the work | Updates and @mentions on an item — a team chat it does not have | The chat is the product’s spine: 6 months of history on Free, no limit from Workspace |
| People on the free plan | Up to two seats | 8 people, and a guest does not take one of those places |
| Guests | Guest access arrives on Standard, two plans above free | One per user on Free, two on Workspace, three on Business OS — each in one named channel with one project on Boards, and none of them billed |
| From talk to work | ||
| What fits in the free plan | Up to 3 boards | 2 boards on Free, 5 on Workspace, no limit on Business OS — and no cap on how many tasks go on them |
| Views on the work | Kanban, files and forms on Free; timeline, Gantt and calendar from Standard up | Kanban, list, table and Gantt on Boards, in every plan |
| Repeatable processes | No automations or integrations on Free; 250 actions a month on Standard, 25,000 on Pro, 250,000 on Enterprise | Workflow templates from Workspace: steps, configurable deadlines, a person or department answering for each stage, conditions that branch the path |
| People and focus | ||
| Your day on one screen | On Free a dashboard reads one board; combining more comes with the paid plans | A dashboard on every plan, built on the Eisenhower matrix, plus the work about to reach you when the person ahead finishes |
| Working hours, absences, time zones | Time tracking arrives on Pro; working hours, absences and time zones are not what it tracks | Time zones on every plan, availability schedule from Workspace, scheduled vacation on Business OS |
| Culture, clients, tickets | ||
| Feedback, kudos, eNPS, pulse surveys | Not in the product | Feedback Friday, kudos and surveys from Free; pulse surveys and eNPS from Workspace |
| Clients and tickets | monday sales CRM and monday dev are separate products, and neither is on the free plan | CRM, ticketing and email are in development, joining Business OS rather than arriving as a separate product |
| Where it runs | ||
| Who you sign the contract with | monday.com Ltd., Tel Aviv. The terms run under the law of the State of Israel, and the courts of Tel Aviv-Jaffa have sole jurisdiction | HOMtu®, a Polish company on European infrastructure at OVHcloud, on every plan |

Giving the point away
Three of them, and none is a throwaway. If these are what your team runs on, monday.com is the right answer and we would rather you knew now.
Column types, formulas, dashboards and an app marketplace. If you already know the process you want and it is unusual, monday will let you build it. Our Boards are narrower on purpose.
25,000 automation and integration actions a month on Pro, 250,000 on Enterprise. Our workflow templates carry a process from step to step; they are not an automation engine, and we would rather say so.
monday sales CRM is a finished product today. Ours is in development. If a CRM is what you need now, that is a good reason to look at them and not at us.
Where the difference shows
monday has updates and @mentions under an item; a team chat it does not have, so the deciding happens somewhere else and the item records the outcome later. In taos the work starts in the conversation, which is why a message becomes a task and the task’s comments come back to the channel it came from.
A reminder, an event in a calendar — yours or somebody else’s — or a task on Boards in the project you pick, on every plan. Not an item you go and create somewhere else and then paste a link to.
Two seats and three boards — that is what monday gives away. Ours is eight people, with the chat, the boards, the surveys and the kudos in the same free plan.
On monday, guest access starts on Standard — two plans above free. Ours are part of every plan, free included: one, two or three per user, each in one named channel with one project on Boards.
Feedback Friday, kudos and surveys from the free plan; pulse surveys and eNPS from Workspace. On monday this is a board you build and a habit you keep by hand.
HOMtu®, a Polish company on European infrastructure at OVHcloud, on every plan. monday.com Ltd. is in Tel Aviv, its terms run under the law of the State of Israel, and the courts of Tel Aviv-Jaffa have sole jurisdiction — that is where a dispute goes.
