Giving the point away
Three of them, and none is a throwaway. If these are what your team runs on, Microsoft Teams is the right answer and we would rather you knew now.
You contract with Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited in Dublin, under Irish law, and Microsoft 365 including Teams sits inside the EU Data Boundary for customers who sign up in the EU or EFTA. No other tool we compare ourselves with goes that far, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
Three hundred people in a meeting on the business plans, a thousand on the enterprise ones, with everything built around them. We do not compete here at all — we put a button in the chat that creates the Teams event and gets out of the way.
If your company already buys Microsoft 365, Teams costs nothing more, and Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint come with it. That is a hard argument to beat on price, and we will not try.
Where the difference shows
Chat, Boards, processes, dashboards and culture arrive in one plan. On the Microsoft side the tasks are Planner, the feedback is Viva, the CRM is Dynamics — each its own app, its own place, and somebody has to decide which one a given thing belongs in.
A reminder, an event in a calendar — yours or somebody else’s — or a task on Boards in the project you pick, on every plan, without leaving the thread. And the comments on that task come back as a reply in the channel it came from.
Feedback Friday, kudos and surveys from the free plan; pulse surveys and eNPS from Workspace. On the Microsoft side eNPS and pulse surveys are Viva Glint and Viva Pulse, six dollars per user per month on top of Microsoft 365.
Your dashboard shows what lands on you when the person ahead of you in the process finishes their step — before it arrives, not once it is late.
Switch between client organisations without logging out, with every notification from every module in one list, whatever your role in each. An agency with eight clients does not keep eight tenants open in eight windows.
